Sharon Rowden has a touch of class.

Rowden, 38, is the new owner of Touch of Class day spa, formerly Magic Touch, located at 28 York St. in Haliburton Village.

Working and living in Haliburton for the past 20 years and cottaging in the area since she was seven, Rowden officially took over the spa on Nov. 1.

For Rowden, a wife and mother of two boys, the decision to purchase the business was a dream come true.

Since its new ownership the day spa has received a facelift, including new d├ęcor and a larger selection of items, which can be purchased. Other elements, such as staff, services offered and prices have remained the same.

Rowden has big plans down the road for the day spa, which include turning it into a sanctuary of relaxation, complete with a hot tub, sauna and a larger facility.

“I’m in it for the long haul,” she said.

A family tie sparked changing the name of the spa.

“My husband came up with it. My father-in-law is a truck driver and his very first truck was called Touch of Class. It just goes because a spa is all about touch,” said Rowden.

Hours of operation are Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Touch of Class is located at 28 York St.
