Hands on Day Spa Representative: We Want to Keep it Clean
Hands on Day Spa has replaced two women who were arrested two weeks ago with a man and a woman masseuse, according to an employee at the spa.
“We don’t want to make any problems for the township,” James Yang said on Tuesday morning, May 1. “ … We want to keep it clean, just have clean massages.”
His comments came in the aftermath of the arrests of Jin Lua Li, 37, and Lian Cui, 39, both of Galloway, on April 18 for alleged acts of prostitution. Police conducted a two-week investigation that culminated in an undercover operation and resulted in the two arrests and the recovery of about $400 in cash, Galloway Police said on Friday, April 27.
Police also said there was no evidence of a connection between the owner of the spa and any illegal activity.
According to Yang, the two new employees underwent background evaluations and have clean records. He spoke in place of the owner, who he said is currently in South Korea.
The spa was closed from the time of the arrests until Monday afternoon, April 30.
“We ask, ‘Why did they do this?’ We don’t know,” Yang said. “ … When people get stressed out, they like to get massages. We want them to come here and just be able to get a massage.”
The spa is located at 714 White Horse Pike, adjacent to RCH Thrift Shop.
RCH owner Rhonda Heuser and her husband, Mike, were adamant they knew nothing about Li and Cui’s actions, and hoped it wouldn’t affect their business.
“RCH has nothing to do with those people, and I’m infuriated by it,” said Rhonda Heuser, who appeared at the council meeting last Tuesday night, April 24 with a donation to the Germania Fire Department of $211.31.
RCH is also currently collecting donations for the Roland Rogers School.
“It’s a legitimate business operating as any other,” Galloway Police Chief Patrick Moran said of RCH Thrift. “This was done covertly. It was not very well known.”
Moran said the spa was operating for about a year before there was any indication of wrongdoing.
“The township is always looking for businesses, but these businesses bring in undesirables,” Moran said. “Legitimate day spas and massage therapy offices tend to suffer from stuff like this. This will bring them down and give them a sour reputation. Even though they’re legit, it unjustly reflects badly on them.”
Moran said this is the second time in a couple of years that a spa in Galloway has been shut down for this reason.
“It doesn’t happen here because of the community we live in,” Moran said. “Our township has a very strong opposition to sexually explicit types of businesses.”

DayDreams Day Spa
Sales are up in 2012, and we are looking to hire several employees at each location to keep up with demand.
Brandon Lakeland, Florida (PRWEB) March 30, 2012
In a sluggish economy when many day spas have closed their doors, owner Jan Jordan of DayDreams Day Spa announced multiple job openings today at both of her spa locations. “Sales are up in 2012, especially our Brandon Massage services, and we’re looking to hire several employees at each spa location to keep up with demand.”
She mentioned that it’s a refreshing change to what she and most other small business owners have experienced since the recession began in 2009. “We have seen a significant and consistent rebound in monthly sales since late 2011 which is the first time we have experienced this since the recession began in 2009 and lingered through late last year. Some economic reports seemed to indicate that the recession was over quite some time ago, but we never saw an improvement and neither did most of our friends and colleagues that are also local business owners. That seems to have changed over the last few months.”
Jordan said she is looking for spa representatives and licensed massage therapists, estheticians and nail specialists at her Brandon and Lakeland Florida spa locations. “What sets us apart is our reputation for excellence in both the quality of treatments and customer service, and we are looking for therapists and spa representatives that can deliver that guest experience to join our team.”
Qualified candidates are welcome to apply either via the website or in person at either spa location. Her Brandon Spa is located at 658 Oakfield Drive, Brandon, FL 33511, and her Lakeland Spa is located at 1463 Town Center Drive, Lakeland, FL 33803.
DayDreams Day Spa Reports Increased Demand for Brandon Massage and Spa …

DayDreams Day Spa
Customers are growing frustrated with discount massage establishments.
Brandon, FL (PRWEB) February 29, 2012
DayDreams Day Spa reverses current economic trend.
Although government reports seemed to indicate that the economy improved slightly in 2011, many local business owners argue that it was not reflected in their annual sales, especially in harder hit states like Florida. The overall trend seemed to be flat to little growth and for many, a further decline compared to 2010.
However, Florida Day Spa owner Jan Jordan of DayDreams Day Spa recently reported that 2012 is pointing to a significantly higher demand. “We started seeing a noticeable uptick in sales in December of 2011, and that momentum has remained strong through February of 2012.” She indicated that although her customers have shown strong demand in all areas of spa treatments, Brandon Massage services saw the highest.
“I believe it was due to a slow but gradual economic recovery and the fact that customers are growing frustrated with discount massage establishments. When the recession hit in 2009, their investments were plummeting and job security was a major issue. I think most of them felt they had to find a low cost option in order to continue receiving regular massage treatments, which was understandable. A common complaint we heard was that although they appreciated a lower priced option, they just didn’t receive a true spa experience. As the economy is improving, they are able to explore more options.”
She was cautious to claim a full economic recovery pointing out that job growth is stagnant, the unemployment rate is still high and the real estate market is quite weak, all weighing heavy on recovery efforts. She also points out that her online Spa Marketing efforts will be more aggressive than ever in 2012. However if the trend over the last quarter continues, 2012 looks promising.

YOUphoria Day Spa treats mother to day of pampering
YOUphoria Day Spa treats mother to day of pampering
Wednesday, 04 January 2012
by Matthew Girard
Whitney Skipper gets a facial and massage during YOUphoria Day Spa and Salon’s “Holiday Makeover” last Sunday. After numerous submissions, YOUphoria Day Spa and Salon awarded a local mother of two a day of pampering with a complete Holiday makeover last Sunday.
YOUphoria owner Kerry King said the spa wanted to give someone a makeover to help brighten their holidays.
“We asked people to nominate themselves or somebody else on Facebook that they believed deserved a holiday makeover,” King said. “After that, we took all of the nominations and put them in our breakroom for our employees to read the stories and at the end voted for who they felt was the most deserving.”
Despite the many deserving candidates, the salon staff chose Moody resident Whitney Skipper.
Skipper, who was nominated by her mother Karen Goff, was shocked when she received the news of being chosen for the makeover.
“This is something I would never do for myself. She didn’t tell me she was going to do it, but it’s a blessing,” Skipper said.
In July, Skipper was involved in a roll-over accident on S.H. 317. While driving her grandmother’s Tahoe, the vehicle rolled several times and Skipper was ejected from the vehicle. She was then transported to Scott White.
Despite the horrific accident, Skipper’s injuries were not life threatening, but she had eight transverse fractures from her C4 vertebrae and her pelvis was broken in two places.
Although her injuries didn’t require surgery, Skipper had to be placed in a rehab facility in Waco for several months to learn occupational therapy and learn how to adjust to being in a wheelchair.
Because of her extended stay, Skipper’s disability insurance eventually ran out and was ultimately out of work for a couple of months. But thanks to friends and family, Skipper recently returned to work.
“I know it tugged on my heartstrings because my husband was involved in a similar accident,” King said.
Although Skipper is on her way to making a full recovery, she said that taking the time and money out to treat herself hasn’t been an option.
“I have to make sure I have enough money for diapers and everything, so I would never take the time to do something like this,” Skipper said.
During the day, Skipper was treated to a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure and a haircut.
“I have never had a massage before, so it was great,” Skipper said. “That’s what I was looking forward to the most.”
King said the idea for the holiday makeover came after the spa participated in a special makeover give-away earlier in the year.
“It was really fun and we enjoyed seeing the difference we made, so we wanted to do it again and decided on giving away a holiday makeover,” King said. “We try to donate to just about every charity that comes through the door. We try to give back to the community and we really love to do makeovers.”
King said YOUphoria will be giving away a Mother’s Day and Back-to-School makeover next year.
Skipper said she was excited to receive the makeover and is keeping a positive attitude.
“Everything could always be worse,” Skipper said. “I’m just thankful that I can walk and that my kids weren’t with me.”
Skipper’s massage was performed by Stephenie Richards, her facial was performed by Angie Gutierrez, her manicure and pedicure were perfsormed by Janie Brown, her haircut and style was performed by Sonja Bell-Clark and her make up was performed by Cindy Bilbrey.
Three runner’s up received $50 gift certificates to the spa.

Mt. Prospect Massage Parlor To Close
One Mt. Prospect massage parlor has volunteered to give up their
business license and a second could lose theirs in the coming
days.
According to Assistant Village Manager David Strahl, Spa One, 1182
S. Elmhurst Rd. will close its doors before the end of this month
due to alleged acts of prostitution occurring inside.
“They offered to give it up and we accepted,” said Strahl.
On Aug. 10 during an undercover investigation by police, a
detective requested and paid for a massage at Spa One.
After asking the detective to remove his clothing, an employee
removed the detective’s towel and instructed him to lie on his
stomach for a table shower.
The complaint states the employee grabbed the detective’s private
parts several times prior to going into the sauna. When he
returned, she allegedly massaged his private parts and then told
him she wanted to make him “happy.”
According to the complaint, the woman got on top of the detective
and exposed herself. After allegedly agreeing on a price for sexual
services, she was informed she was under arrest.
Strahl is currently reviewing all the information and said he will
make a decision whether or not to revoke the business license for
Exercise Crystal Health Spa, 1735 W. Algonquin Rd. before the
end of this month.
Also on Aug. 10, a detective requested and paid for a massage at
Exercise Crystal Health Spa.
After asking the detective to remove his clothing, an employee
allegedly removed a towel the detective had wrapped around himself
and instructed him to lie on his back for a table shower.
According to the complaint, she allegedly grabbed the detective’s
private area during the table shower and was then instructed to go
into the sauna and then return to the massage room.
The complaint states she began to massage the detective’s private
parts. She then asked him to turn over and asked the detective if
he wanted her to continue touching him.
The detective asked how much it would cost and according to the
complaint, she responded, “Just tip me.” When she began performing
the alleged act, she was advised she was under arrest.
After being advised of her rights through a Korean interpreter, the
woman explained to police she charges $80 for a massage along with
extra services plus tip.
