Joe James Salon and Day Spa Coming to Parks Legado Town Center
Odessa, TX, May 12, 2012 –(PR.com)– Joe James Salon and Day Spa will open a new location at Parks Legado Town Center this fall. Recently voted one of the top 200 fastest growing salons in America, Parks Legado will be the salon’s second location. Joe James Salon and Day Spa will join restaurants, shops and the 120-room Residence Inn by Marriott this year at Parks Legado Town Center, a 68 acre mixed use development under construction on State Highway 191 in northeast Odessa, Texas. Upon total completion, Parks Legado Town Center will include over 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, offices, and the Sewell Family of new car dealerships.
“We are excited to announce that Joe James Camarillo is bringing his acclaimed salon and day spa to Parks Legado Town Center,” said Collin Sewell, Parks Legado developer. “Joe James Salon and Day Spa has been a West Texas institution since 1996. Their quality and customer service is unmatched anywhere in Odessa and Midland,” he said.
Joe James Salon and Day Spa will be located adjacent to the Parks Legado Micro Park in the heart of the new development. The salon will offer hair salon and style services, as well as complete facial, body, message and spa treatments. They will also offer a full line of Aveda products.
“Parks Legado Town Center was our only choice for a second salon and spa location,” said owner Joe James Camarillo. “Joe James Salon Day Spa is a wonderfully tranquil place, perfect for enjoying the many heavenly treatments we offer. Our customers will appreciate this great location, the restaurants and shops, and the unique, upscale design of Parks Legado,” he added.
The Parks Legado development team including Mr. Sewell and Dallas based developer Epperson Company, has designed the town center with a focus on enduring quality with a hometown feel. Parks Legado Town Center will include Mediterranean architecture, tree lined sidewalks, and the Micro Park to host community events and entertainment.
“Joe James Salon and Day Spa will anchor a great lineup of shops and restaurants coming soon to Parks Legado,” noted Mr. Epperson. “In our quest to add to the quality of life in West Texas, Joe James Salon and Day Spa really takes us forward in achieving our goal. We are getting additional interest from businesses that have been looking for the best place to enter or expand in this dynamic Odessa-Midland market place,” he added.
About:
Joe James Salon and Day Spa: The salon opened its first location in Midland in December 1996. Joe James Salon and Day Spa has been voted one of the top 200 fastest growing salons in America, offers a relaxing and sequestered waiting area for clients to enjoy quiet time before or after their services. Guests can choose from a variety of hair style services and spa treatments including facials, microdermabrasion, body wraps, body bronzing, steam/sauna and massages. They offer a complete lineup of products, as well as bridal packages, groom and children’s services.
Odessa-Midland: With a population of 274,000, Odessa and Midland are among the Nation’s fastest growing small cities for annual gross product and job creation. The area grew 13.5% in 2011. Retail sales are up over 22% and auto sales are up over 23% as compared to 2011. This is due in part by the growth of energy companies and oil service companies involved in exploration of The Spraberry Field in the Permian Basin. The Midland-Odessa Regional Economic Index rose 17.7% since March 2011.
The Sewell Family of Companies: Currently in its fourth generation, the 100 year old Sewell Family of Companies is lead by Collin Sewell. Gifted with the ability to lead and recognize talent, Mr. Sewell is strategic in assembling the best possible team for each project he begins. He leads over 275 team members in West Texas and oversees Ford, Lincoln, and General Motors franchises. Mr. Sewell is active in many philanthropic events, including an annual fundraiser that has generated more than $1 million in donations over the past ten years for the local school district.
Epperson Company: With over 30 years of real estate development and consulting experience, President Don Epperson has managed over $1 billion in commercial development and the construction of 9.5 million square feet. Epperson Company’s track record includes: mixed-use, retail, office, hospitality, residential, medical, and transit oriented development. Among his past projects are the 800,000 square foot Park Lane mixed use development in Dallas, and Hotel Palomar by Kimpton hotel/residential projects in Dallas and Los Angeles.

Walking for water: Auburn salon styles fashion show with Earth Day accents
Local beauties will strike a pose for the Earth today in honor of water cleanup and conservation.
Auburn’s Elements Salon and Day Spa will hold a Catwalks for Water fashion show Wednesday, April 25 to show off this year’s style trends, and raise money to ensure access to potable water.
“This is the fourth year now that we’ve held the event,” said Sheryl Puylara, the owner of the salon. “We partner with Aveda, and they challenge all of their salons to raise money for Earth Month.”
Aveda is an international company offering environmentally conscious hair and makeup products.
Since 1999, the company has expanded Earth Day through the entire month of April.
According to Aveda’s website, $22 million has been raised in 13 years to support both domestic and overseas clean water projects.
Hundreds of Catwalks for Water events are held at participating salons across the country.
Puylara said she set a $1,300 fundraising goal for the fashion show event at Auburn’s Holiday Inn.
“We use our local clients as models, and our stylists work to show what key trends in hair and makeup are going to be in style this year,” she said. “We’ve also got some stores from the Waterloo outlet mall to lend us some clothes.”
Puylara said this year, short cuts are king, with an updated pixie cut and a more textured variant of the classic bob making the rounds on the runway.
For makeup, she said peaches and coral tones are in, with cat eyes and the always-classic red lipstick making appearances.
For clothing, Puylara’s keeping mum, letting the fashions speak for themselves.
“There are a lot of interesting fashions making the rounds this season,” she said. “You’ll just have to come out and see them.”
The stylist said the fashion show is the easiest way to track down all of the prevailing trends.
“We’ve got everything here in one place,” she said. “You can get all the information without having to sift through stacks of magazines. We’ll show you how to get the runway look that you can do yourself.”
Puylara said the goal for this year’s event is 50 attendees.
“It’s really grown every year, and we’ve been getting very close to 50, so we’re hoping to exceed that,” she said. “It’s all for a very good cause, so we’re hoping people come out and have a lot of fun.”
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the fashion event, and a donation of gently used business attire for the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency will bring a discount on the $15 ticket price.
“I hope this year we can exceed our goal,” Puylar said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun, and we’re going to have some good fashion.”

New Westchase Salon’s Name Says It All
About a month ago, opportunity knocked (or in this case rang) for Charlie Ngo.
The call came from the owner of Soonye Company Salon and Day Spa in the same shopping center as Ngo’s Lovely Nails Day Spa. Soonye, the owner, wanted to know if Ngo was interested in purchasing her business and taking over.
Despite already running Lovely Nails, one of Westchase’s most popular places to have your nails done, and welcoming a new baby into his family, Ngo jumped at the opportunity.
“It’s not just the great look that you get, but it’s the pampering service as well,” Ngo said on a recent day at Studio 7. “That will be my focus — pampering people.”
Ngo opened Studio 7 a few weeks ago in Westchase at 12153 W. Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa.
The salon’s name signifies another change Ngo wanted to make in the hair care business. Studio 7 will be open seven days a week.
“I noticed that most salons were closed on Sunday and Monday,” he said.
“Seven is my lucky number,” he added. “It reflects a new philosophy and business principle.”
In addition to most hair care services, Studio 7 also offers nail care, facials, body treatments, makeup application and spa packages.
For the past month, Ngo and his staff have worked to revamp the salon including knocking down a wall to create a spacious, yet cozy pedicure area. New lighting, flooring and nail stations have also been added to the salon.
New stylists have been hired for the location. And former Lovely Nails staff Julie and Linda will be joining the Studio 7 group. Christopher Nejman, a stylists who worked at Soonye Company remains at the new Studio 7.
Nejman was enthusiastic about the new salon.
“I think it’s great, we’re going back to basics where a person can come into one place and have everything done,” said Nejman, who has more than 25 years experience. “It’s a great marriage bringing hair, nails and skin together.”
Find “Westchase Studio 7″ on Facebook. The salon is located at 12153 West Linebaugh Avenue. Call 813-818-4499.
